@5 days ago with 43511 notesApologies for the terrible image quality - I’m lacking scanner access at the minute so I had to take these photos on my phone
I was reading hyperbole and a half’s blog entry explaining their experience of depression and decided to make another sketchy comic based on my experiences with anxiety, which is another mental illness I think people tend to misunderstand quite frequently
Hopefully this will be of use to some people - whether they suffer from anxiety themselves or if they just want to know more about it

| The Atlantic: | It sounds like you're saying that literary "talent" doesn't inoculate a writer—especially a male writer—from making gross, false misjudgments about gender. You'd think being a great writer would give you empathy and the ability to understand people who are unlike you—whether we're talking about gender or another category. But that doesn't seem to be the case. |
| Junot Diaz: | I think that unless you are actively, consciously working against the gravitational pull of the culture, you will predictably, thematically, create these sort of fucked-up representations. Without fail. The only way not to do them is to admit to yourself [that] you're fucked up, admit to yourself that you're not good at this shit, and to be conscious in the way that you create these characters. It's so funny what people call inspiration. I have so many young writers who're like, "Well I was inspired. This was my story." And I'm like, "OK. Sir, your inspiration for your stories is like every other male's inspiration for their stories: that the female is only in there to provide sexual service." There comes a time when this mythical inspiration is exposed for doing exactly what it's truthfully doing: to underscore and reinforce cultural structures, or I'd say, cultural asymmetry. |
Literally ordered this on Monday. I can’t believe I’ll have it by tomorrow. The person who sent this is definitely getting 5 stars u r a god

So I recently came across this website, Elite Daily. It calls itself “The Voice of Generation-Y.”
The link I stumbled on was to an article titled “The 10 Things Women Need to Realize in 2013.” OK. Let’s check this out…
OH, BOY. What the fuck is this? The first photo attached to the…
I really didn’t think that I could rage so hard at one single person. I’m at work with only 1.5 hours of sleep and can barely do my work functions and I’m sorry if I don’t really sound cohesive in my writing. Reading this on my downtime really makes me think that we’re not evolving anymore. Why is it that some people lay in this sort of primordial cesspool of thinking? Someone thinks women lose value? They have a depreciation rate like a car? Mr. Cuffin actually took his time and made a list on how to cheat on your girlfriend and how to raise a whore.
Incompetence is contagious. I don’t think people don’t like him because he’s straight to the point. I think people don’t like him because he spews this idiotic dribble.
Can I just bring some attention to how much I relate to some of the themes and characters in Adventure Time and this is just one of the reasons I’ve fallen in love with this show?
Just… ugh. <3
Still don’t know why this show gets so much shit I mean just because it’s a cartoon doesn’t meant we can’t learn from it or relate to it.
